Changes Committee would like to see as a result of this committee: successful transition from Steuart Hill to Franklin Square, families are more empowered to be involved with education, students are more involved with education and activism

Committee discussed the activities that would be involved in focusing on the three focus areas identified.

Academics–unclear

Organizing families–town hall forums, sharing information, building relationships to identify issues and then figure out what the appropriate target for the issues are, and then organizing

Committee discussed the potential of expanding focus to include building relationships and connections with families in the area in order to build organizing power to advocate for change.

Resource development– what would the biggest need be? Activity could be fundraising, is money the biggest need? Yes, a big need but there are other resources– human connections, relationships, etc

Community School Coordinator Updates

Charles Carroll Barrister–having issues with the new playground project with the District approved contractor. Lost ESOL program for families and music program because they haven’t been paid by the District. Held 2nd holiday spectacular, received 800 toys. Committee discussed advocacy to address delays with payments and vendors.
