Program Updates

Crossing Guards: Heidi Stevens from the United Way and Cynthia Poindexter have been planning a hiring event to facilitate hiring of crossing guards locally. They were able to speak to the Sgt on hiring crossing guards to have someone at the recruiting event. Event will be held at Vintage Gardens. Still waiting for date to be confirmed by DOT.

School Closure Planning Study: Abigail will follow up with committee members who volunteered to call families to advocate for a meaningful study of the impacts of school closure on students

School Family Council:  Camille is continuing to reach out to schools to learn when the School Family Council meetings are. If we don’t get responses a next step will be to reach out to the principals and advocate for them to be started with community members who are interested in joining

UMB Needs Assessment: survey questions will be finalized, and then UMB will engage in surveying and outreach on the questions
