Workforce Grantee Updates
Paul’s Place has enrolled everyone they said they would, NPower and B&O are still working on it. B&O has an expensive program and a small cohort with a long training period, and so will be recruiting again in the fall. We will work with NPower to support their local recruitment.
The Committee discussed the programs as well as the community members who would be a good fit.
Workforce Programming Update
Looking at a staff transition this fall in Southwest Works. In the seven years since we started the program there has been a growth in the type of workforce development programming that it provides in the area–leading to a question about whether it makes sense to raise the funds to continue the program as is. Is this the best use of resources for the SWP to invest in this style of workforce development programming? What other type of programming could we provide? Committee discussed options and will revisit at the September meeting.
