Shared Outreach Strategies

Phase 3: partnerships with referral partners–program pipelines and then community partners and workforce partners for folks who are looking for work. Virtual have been very helpful but its also really important to have the personal connection. UMMC works with partners and workforce development specialists are outward facing, do a lot of events to capture community members interested in employment for training programs. IRC does have explicit outreach staff for employers. (IRC clients come to them through established pipelines, isn’t a need for client outreach and recruitment). NPower outreach is also more employer focused.

Interest and goal in doing more outreach to community members, UMB have found that the best people to do outreach are people from the community. Would funding for shared outreach be something that people were interested in. Goal would be to find a way to fund relationship based outreach strategies using people from southwest Baltimore to build awareness of general resources available for workforce development, job training, adult education etc and also support specific program recruitment. UMB will continue to explore.
