Southwest Works Update
SWP has received a commitment of $300,000/year from an anonymous corporate funder for workforce development programming. A portion will be used for workforce operating expenses–full time program manager, case management and a portion will be awarded to other partner workforce development organizations for grants that increase the likelihood of long-term employment and career development for community members.
Three areas of focus:
-improving collaboration between partners
-improving long term employment and career development
-improving anchor institution local hiring
Elizabeth will send an outline of what the funder will like to fund to the Committee for their input on the structure.
