Lifebridge Health Violence Response, Reduction, and Prevention Programs
Colleen shared the presentation on the programs and resources provided through Lifebridge: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1L4Ol6ZwF45zCtM_gEJmspbD1VmAug03I/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=114216508942507364288&rtpof=true&sd=true
Howard asked how folks are connected with the domestic violence services–can be connected through screening at the hospital, and would have the opportunity to have a face to face connection with program staff. Take a victim centered approach and let the victim take the lead with what they need (safety plan etc). Unlike the community violence program do not work with perpetrators and victims at the same time
Colleen and committee discussed the ways in which having Safe Streets programs under shared umbrellas (Lifebridge and Catholic Charities) will support the mission.
David asked about moving gun violence response program in schools–can’t speak to the details but the goal is to have an ecosystem of violence prevention
Laura asked about Safe Streets expansion–was a recent assessment, Safe Streets program follows hotspots for violence
Scott asked about one page of resources–sent out this morning
911 Update (Wayne Harris)
911 can get very broad–911 for Baltimore City is actually in Baltimore City. Can text 136 different languages, have location services. If a video is sent will share with fire before they come out
Some calls require the least involved police response (consent decree)–need to have a 911 diversion program. Have the ability to transfer to the loca 988 line
