Project Updates

 

Elizabeth provided an update on the Franklin Square Comfort Station–should be finished in the next couple of weeks 

 

Neighborhood Grants are still outstanding–Elizabeth recapped where the projects are. 

 

2023 Neighborhood Grants Discussion and Decision

Remaining grant funds: 

$20,000 for Committee projects

$4290 in neighborhood grant money unawarded

$9000 Franklin Square Comfort

 

Laura would like to do a public art project–utility box wrapping

 

Edith–a gentleman is trying to create something similar to Kirby Lane Park in Franklin Square could be the funding be used for that?

 

Alley gates? Fixing up playgrounds?

 

Bill–get out the vote mailing?

 

Playground replacement fund–first come first serve basis 

 

Set aside the $20,000 for public art

Set a playground fund and use the funding for the replacement and repair as they arise

  • Meghan will do an assessment of the utility boxes in Franklin Square and Pigtown Barre Circle, Laura will do Hollins
  • Serena and Diana will do the playground assessment

Signs have been installed–waiting for the signs to be removed. It is on the work list but we don’t know when it’s going to be

 

Bike rides are still ongoing most weekends–Maryland Cycling Classic will be the Sunday before Labor Day and the SWP bike group will be meeting up to participate
