Acting Executive Director Report (Elizabeth): Staff Updates
- Jeff Johnson will continue as the community school coordinator but will now be an employee of Bon Secours. The SWP will continue as the lead agency for just one school (Charles Carroll).
- WBRF – is providing funding for a Commercial Development Specialist – We will be advertising the position soon.
Executive Director Search Committee Recommendations (Scott)

- Recapped the steps of the search and explained that the search committee feels that we did not find the right candidate. The Search Committee recommendation is to end this search and engage with a professional search firm to assist with finding the right candidate.
- Motion (Laura): To end this search. 2nd by Chuck

- Motion (Scott): To empower the search committee to engage a search firm and spend up to $40K. 2nd by Charisse
- Chuck requested that the board be kept appraised of progress.

Announcements
- Cecilia – The Housing Committee meeting in September will be Hybrid – The in person portion will be at Allen AME.
- Charisse – The SWP has formed a team to participate in the Kidney Foundation 5K Walk on Sept 10. She will send a flier for others to join and/ or donate.
- Sonia – Poppleton back to school event Aug 23rd.
- Laura/ Howard – Hollins cleanup Aug 19 9AM. Dumpster from the City
- Kris – B&O:
- First Responders day Sept 9
- Murder Mystery Dinner Sept 30
- Groundworks Kitchen is operating their cafe.
- Chuck – The UMMC Workforce team is planning to hire 50 more people
- They have already hired over 300 with 80% retention.
- The job fair will be coming up soon.
- Bill – It’s easy to connect with Lisa Rawlings at the CEC for Workforce Wednesdays.
- UMB is hiring year round youth workers. $15/hr.
- They still have 3 more openings. Please refer youth directly to Bill.
- Sonia sent a questionnaire to the anchors. Please answer and return them.
- The neighborhoods are planning to meet monthly.
