Committee Priority Projects

What would the Committee like to see done this year? Committee has $25,000 available for projects that they would like to see done

  • Mural guide
  • Franklin Square Comfort Station
  • Wayfinding Signs
  • Bike Routes/bike lines
  • Traffic Calming in Poppleton
  • Fixing uneven sidewalks

If funding were available what would the Committee like to focus on first?

Franklin Square Comfort Station, Current wayfinding signs

Laura would like to see money spent on signs

Serena would like to focus on projects that could be easily done

Committee asked to come to next month’s meeting with potential projects that they would like to see done with the funding for the committee. Please come with plans and budgets so we can see what will happen with the funding

Dotie would like to see a painted sculpture in each neighborhood

Public Space Grants for 2022

SWP has extra funding for neighborhood grants this year through the Lowe’s Foundation. Proposal is to do two separate categories of grants: up to $20,000 and up to $5,000. Grants up to $20,000 would require an LOI to be approved before applying.

Questions for the Committee:

1, What would we like to prioritize in grants this year?

  1. Do we want to keep the extra points for projects in less awarded neighborhoods? We do have enough funding to guarantee at least one project in each neighborhood, but this would give those neighborhoods a better chance at 2nd, 3rd projects.

Committee discussed and finalized the rubric. Applications will be open early March and applications will be open early June
