Changes Committee would like to see as a result of this committee: successful transition from Steuart Hill to Franklin Square, families are more empowered to be involved with education, students are more involved with education and activism
Committee discussed the activities that would be involved in focusing on the three focus areas identified.
Academics–unclear
Organizing families–town hall forums, sharing information, building relationships to identify issues and then figure out what the appropriate target for the issues are, and then organizing
Committee discussed the potential of expanding focus to include building relationships and connections with families in the area in order to build organizing power to advocate for change.
Resource development– what would the biggest need be? Activity could be fundraising, is money the biggest need? Yes, a big need but there are other resources– human connections, relationships, etc
