B&O Railroad Museum Training Program

B&O Museum has a very big footprint, as a result of actively listening to the community about how the museum can support the community workforce development identified as a need. Have started a program with CCBC on a skilled trades training program.

Program focuses on construction, facilities maintenance, rail track maintenance

Able to pay students $15 for 40 hours a week for six months, training done on B&O’s campus

Provides certifications and wrap around services through CCBC

Deliberately keep the cohort small to be sure to be able to support all participants

CCBC evaluates prior trade experience, no background issues or issues with education level in admittance to the program.

Currently in the recruitment stage for the next cohort.

Childcare Resources

BCCRC shared a presentation on helping families get connected with childcare and also provides help with starting up family childcare businesses. Looking to launch training program this month.
