Project Planning 2024
Community Health and Safety Works funding will support community spruce up projects. Committee discussed the priorities and requirements of the grant funding. Committee would prefer to keep projects community identified and led, and would like to be sure to apply for Spruce Up funding as well as string light funding.
Tree Planting: Donnell would like to meet with the association presidents to develop a plan for tree plantings across the SWP area, including tree well modifications as needed. SUsan asked if there is an inventory of existing street trees? That would be very useful–we can ask.
How are the trees being funded? There are free trees through the City, as well as through Chesapeake Bay Trust Urban TreesProgram.
South Baltimore Charter School students are doing a tree planting project around the neighborhood.
