Project Updates
Franklin Square Neighborhood Sign: The Committee Reviewed the text of the historic sign for the Franklin Square neighborhood. The sign will be installed in Franklin Square Park, and was funded by a Small Neighborhood Grant submitted by the Committee.
Bruce St Stables: Bruce St Stables–Dorothy and David Johns will be attending the December meeting to discuss the history of the stables and the work that is ongoing to stabilize and preserve it that the SWP was able to support them in getting the funding for through a grant from the state DHCD.
Committee Update Form Review and Approval: Committee reviewed and approved the form for updating the Committee on physical development projects. The form will be shared with CHAP/SWP staff for updates to the Committee when the Committee requests an update.
1100 block of W Baltimore St Demolition: The demolition has been completed, the neighborhood is working on a way to take control of the vacant land
Sarah Anne St: No CHAP updates. Could be part of a Place Called Poppleton class led through UMBC
Poppleton National Register of Historic Places Application: The initial research will be begun by the Place Called Poppleton class that will begin in the next semester through UMBC Department of American Studies.
Black History Website: Going to need to develop the content together as a Committee. Could happen during the Committee meetings–everyone could work on developing the content together, and then we would work on publishing it to a live site.
Malachi Mills: need to move forward with gating the walkway at the Mills House.
