SWP Board Meeting Minutes

  • 7:10 Call to Order – Laura

  •  Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes (Scott)
      1. Motion to approve minutes from June (Jane), Rebecca 2nd: Kelleigh and Laura abstained, All others approve 
  • Governance Updates (Rebecca not here yet – Bill presented)
      1. Working on orientation – should have ahead of the elections.
      2. 80% response to survey
        1. Questions about size of board, committees, structure – do all the committees have charters – Planning to update the structural diagram and provide templates for charters.
        2. This will be an ongoing process…
  • Director Report (Tony)
      1. Tony will be taking vacation coming up
      2. Hiring a property manager
      3. BVRI – up to $500K initial funding can provide some operation funding
        1. Still have many questions about hos this will work – need to meet with DHCD
        2. 59 properties across Hollins and Mt Clare.
      4. Working to spend down existing BRNI grants
      5. Commercial Improvement – received 30 applications.
      6. Please send events to Marketing email – in order to have them included on the calendar.
  • Semi Annual Meeting/ Town Hall/ Open house – August 23 (Laura)
      1. August 23 11-2 @ Graeter Model Rec Center
      2. Please bring someone new, will include:
        1. Committee Chair materials, Speed Dating Committees, 
      3. Discuss expectations for committee chairs to prep – have something for participants to take home with them – sign up for the next thing, actionable items, Let’s ask what can we do together?
      4. Planning committee meets every Friday 11-11:30 all are welcome to join.
