Barre Circle Clean Up Day
Barre Circle Clean Up Day
April 19, 2026 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Bier Garten
● In partnership with COP and Friends of Carroll Park there are 6 dumpster days scheduled for our neighborhoods in the first ½ of the year, with more to be scheduled in June.
● Residents are encouraged to regularly pick up any litter in front of their homes and in the curb and parking spaces. Each of our ten minutes a week makes a big impact on promoting Barre Circle as a neighborhood that cares!
● More volunteers are needed! To add your name to the reminder emails & texts, send your contact information to susan.moriarty31@gmail.com
● Being on the Clean up Crew is a fun way to give back to the community and make friends with neighbors!. And it's easy exercise! Duties include meeting at the designated meetup spot, grabbing some coffee and a treat, choosing a picker and a bag, and scouring the neighborhood for trash. Return the picker to the meet-up spot around noon, and voila, you've done your weekly good deed!

Sowebo Community Archiving Event
Sowebo Community Archiving Event
April 25, 2026 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Hollins Market, Baltimore, MD, USA
This event will engage residents in co-creating a living archive that captures experiences, memories, and traditions of Southwest Baltimore.
The purpose of the Sowebo Community Archiving Event is to engage residents in co-creating an ongoing, and living, historical archive that captures the experiences, memories, and cultural traditions of Southwest Baltimore. Our goal is to make these traditions and legacies accessible and available to residents and the general public.
The event will provide a chance for residents to engage with past public history and cultural documentation projects as part of UMBC’s Baltimore Traces: Communities in Transition project and offer suggestions for building a collective community archive for the future in partnership with the Maryland Traditions Archives at UMBC and to assist residents in documenting and preserving their own experiences.
With a focus on local cultural traditions—such as the rich history of Baltimore’s Hollins Market, local neighborhoods like Poppleton, local arabber horse-and-wagon street vendors, and local street art—we are inviting those who live and work in the area to share their memories and learn more about their neighbors.
Afterparty at Zella’s at 4:30pm for the last weekend of the Sowebo Streets: 40 years of street photography in Southwest Baltimore exhibit.
