- Green & Healthy Homes Virtual Information Sessions Partnership? Future webinars for SWP? Yes.
GHHI’s Mission is to break the link between unhealthy housing and unhealthy families by creating and advocating for healthy, safe and energy efficient homes.
- We assist low income families throughout Maryland with home health hazards assessment and education on:
- Lead Poisoning Preventions & Hazards
- Asthma Triggers
- Moisture and mold, Indoor air quality (venting, environmental tobacco smoke, proper furnace functioning, carbon monoxide)
- Pest management
- Safety (Structural Defects, Trip and Fall Hazards, Fire Hazards, Children’s Access to Chemicals)
- We know the spread of the virus is greatly curtailed by social distancing and staying in our homes, however, we also recognize that more than 30 million families, often in low income neighborhoods, live in homes that pose immediate serious health risks and exacerbate underlying illnesses such as asthma, allergies, and other respiratory conditions, as well as mental health challenges. In addition, far too many children and pregnant women are still exposed to lead hazards in their homes.
- GHHI would like to offer your clients or staff a virtual information session on several educational topics such as Lead 101, Asthma 10, Renters Rights, Healthy Homes 101 and Community Health Workers (CHW) / Home Visiting trainings that may be helpful to your staff and clients. We would like to add you to our calendar for a Virtual Information Session. GHHI will create the flyer that can be distributed to your clients as well as promote the session.
- Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI) Rental Property Owner Training. We are hosting a virtually webinar on Friday, August 14, 2020 and Friday, August 21, 2020 at 10:30am – 11:30am that will provide a comprehensive overview of updated Maryland’s Lead Risk Reduction in Housing Law, Federal Title X’s Disclosure Rule, EPA’s Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair, and Paint, and Lead Safe Work Practices followed by a question and answer segment. We will provide an update on the Federal and State lead laws and the NEW lead paint regulations that took effect in Maryland on July 1, 2020. In addition, we will provide pamphlets, educational materials, and a housing resource list for owners.
